EVENT DETAILS
Enjoy and evening with Women Writing and Living the West. On October 12, 2012, we will open the 16th annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival with our Sheep Tales Gathering at the NexStage Theatre in Ketchum, Idaho, from 7:30–9:00 pm.
We will show a film, Voices of western women—the courage to tell your story, created from the stories collected at the highly successful Women Writing and Living the West Symposium held in October 2011. In addition to the film, writers and ranching women will travel to share memories and stories in person through photo journeys and readings. Teresa Jordan will serve as our moderator as she did for the Women Writing and Living the West Symposium. Among the writers and ranching women featured that evening will be Carolyn and Linda Dufurrena, authors of 50 Miles from Home: Life on a Nevada Ranch. Carolyn will show her audio/visual presentation of life on their ranch and share her life story. After the presentations, members of the audience will be encouraged to tell their stories and to discuss ideas, feelings and issues facing women and families in the west. |
